Located in the heart of the South Hams, Kingsbridge is the ideal base for a self catering holiday. Salcombe and Dartmouth are nearby and there are lots of fantasic beaches including Bigbury on Sea, Bantham, Slapton and Blackpool Sands.

The town is at the head of the Kingsbridge to Salcombe estuary where if you catch the tide right you can catch a boat down to Salcombe.

This market town offers twice weekly markets and a Farmers market on the first Saturday of each month. The town is full of interesting individual shops a wide variety of restaurants and pubs. The leisure centre has a 25 metre indoor swimming pool as well as squash, badminton courts and a gym. Kingsbridge Fair week 19-26th July brings the town alive as does Kingsbridge Music Festival 20-22nd June.

The lively Cookworthy museum showing rural life in the South Hams is named after Thomas Cookworthy who was born here in 1705. He discovered china clay in Cornwall and made the first true porcelain making the estuary a very bustling place in those days with the coming and going of the large sail ships with their cargo.

For walkers the South West Coastal path is nearby, for golfer's you have a choice of Bigbury, Thurlestone and Dartmouth golf cubs.

The city of Plymouth is 30 minutes drive away and here you can find Britain's foremost aquarium and in the six years it has been open it has attracted over two million visitors through its doors. Great for the whole family.
