Hope Cove

Hope Cove is the ideal family self catering holiday cottage destination, the beaches are clean and safe with rock pools for the children. Salcombe is just 5 miles away and numerous other beaches are a short drive away.The picturesque village of Hope Cove nestles in the shelter of Bolt Tail, with its charming thatched cottages, it's welcoming pub and beautiful sunsets it is a wonderful holiday destination. Hope Cove is an ideal location from which to sail your own boat, with an open beach and a slipway at Inner Hope. The South Devon Coastal Path offers fantastic walking and views fo Bigbury Bay, Burgh Island, Thurlestone Rock and beyond. The area is also popular with divers as there have been over 30 ship wrecks close by.

Hope Cove weekend in August is a great family event with sandcastle competitions, dinghy racing, music and dancing, a firework display to name is weekend not to be missed. Locally, there is also horse riding, sailing, water skiing, windsurfing and many other exciting outdoor activities.

The local town of Kingsbridge is an attractive market town with interesting shops, a great selection of restaurants and a superb leisure centre and indoor swimming pool. Salcombe is a short distance away and offers great opportunities to take to the water whether it be chartering a yacht or just going up the river.

Thurlestone and Bigbury Golf club are nearby and Dartmouth Golf Club is 30 minutes away.

For children, there are a wealth of local activities (in addition to the wide selection of beaches!). There are the widely acclaimed adventure centres at Sorley Tunnel, near Kingsbridge and at Woodlands, near Dartmouth .

Comprised of two tiny villages Inner and Outer, which are linked together by road, scenic footpath walk and sandy beaches. It is a picturesque fishing village with the most amazing sunsets and a serene ‘time stood still’ atmosphere, with its cob, thatched and stone cottages set around a tiny square. Outer Hope has a local pub the ‘Hope and Anchor’, village café and tearooms and a general post office shop. Hope Cove is an ideal location for family holidays by the beach, sail your boat via a slipway at Inner Hope and only a very short drive of Salcombe and Kingsbridge.
